She began her career at leading international firm King & Wood Mallesons and later practiced at leading national firm Sparke Helmore. With over 10 years of experience in legal practice, Sara specialises in international arbitration and international investment law. She holds a Master of Laws (International Arbitration) from University of London, Queen Mary College and a combined Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Law from the University of Newcastle. Sara joined the University of Newcastle in 2015 as a sessional academic and was appointed as a conjoint in 2017. law firms and corporate counsel on emerging technology and the practice of law. Sara is also the founder of Inkling Legal Design where she advises government agencies, regulators. She is the course coordinator of UoN’s legal design course.
She has particular interest in algorithmic law, natural language processing and visual law. Conjoint Associate Professor Sara Rayment researches legal design, legal innovation and international disputes.
